Abbey Mystery and Memory
Over 30 years ago my family visited Furness Abbey and it was an experience that somehow stayed with me in a fading and flickering sort of way. I had the opportunity to visit again recently and became immersed in the history and the memories of the place. This selection of photographs is the result of experimentation and contemplation during that visit. My artistic approach here is a departure from the path I have been on to date and it is exciting to discover how this will influence future work. It may be a brief diversion as I continue my pathfinder adventure or it may lead to a new direction in my work that incorporates and integrates with past developments. Time will tell……….
